Kory had RSV as a baby, before they had an 'official' name for it. Dr Ring was who we took him to, and he basically did the same thing your first ped. did. Sent him home and said "well, we'll just have to treat the symptoms" Kory ended up being sick for nearly my whole senior year, so I was in and out of school taking care of him. It was very very very scary. I'm VERY happy that now they have treatment that they've found works, because all we could do back then was just put him on cough medicine and alternate between giving him formula (cause he couldn't eat much w/o throwing it up) and NOT giving him formula, cause lactose causes mucas to be much thicker. I have never been so afraid in my life...but he's fine now, and is rarely, if ever sick at all. All that helped me though, to deal with two little girls who have asthema, and are seriously ill nearly every winter.
I'm very very happy that you guys found a Dr that helped. You're more than right though, that finding a Dr that LISTENS to you, and is concerned about your child, rather than just about getting as many patients as they can. Keep us up to date on how she's doing, ok?
