Great teachers - 2005/08/24 14:02
There is an African proverb that says, "It takes a village to raise a child." I believe teachers are a great part of that village. All of my teachers did an awesome job and I appreciate them so much. Some of the teachers that stand out in my memory are:
Coach Thorman-who was also my bus driver and took great personal interest in me. He made me feel like I was really worth something.
Mrs. Miller-who made me really think and write those 8 lines a day! She always put a lot of effort into what she did. I learned so many new things from her.
Mr. Garis-I don't think I was one of his favorite students, because I remember crossing him a time or two, but I really respected him as a teacher. I still have my zoology notes!
Mr. & Mrs. Kroeker-I never was really good at music, but they let me sing and play anyway! Honestly, one of the things I appreciate most about them was that they really cared about us when we went on trips they cared enough to know where we were & what we were doing. They also taught me some "life lessons."
Mrs. Roberson-She really made home economics fun! I'm so glad that the semester before she retired, she let us girls talk her into anything! I remember cross stitching for 9 weeks!
Mr. Croft-For teaching me the lighter side of life in life science!
Mr. Yocham- for not giving me an easy ride in algebra. He made me learn the up hill way!
Mrs. Ashley-for making 2nd grade an interesting place to learn. Also for the tooth fairy club!
