Don't recall 3rd grade much. I sat behind you and teased you a lot in Mrs' Bodine's 6th grade science class. I think you showed up with some 'New Kids on the Block' earrings one day and I gave you some grief.
No doubt the political correctness of today is getting out of hand. I remember a story from one of our English books about the future where everything was supposed to be 'fair'. Some guy was really smart so he had this thing on his head that scrambled his concentration every 5 seconds. (Since it's not fair for him to smarter than anyone else.) One woman was very beautiful so she had to wear a hideous mask all the time. Another guy was very strong so he was fitted with all these weights so he couldn't lift much, except he just got stronger and stronger until he broke free. Don't remember much else about the story. Hopefully that's not what America is headed for.
And yes, I still remember the days when if something offended you, it was your problem.
Hey, I heard Mrs. Kolb stood on her head in a class just this year! Yeah, she was doing that 20 years ago!
I liked her. She really tried hard to teach me Math. I just wasn't born with that part of the brain.
How about High School when Cheryl Brent was 'tried' in Mr. Thorman's Civics class when she was accused of mashing his tuna sandwich? That whole thing was a riot and we learned quite a bit about government! He was one of the few coaches I ever had that put effort into teaching. Mr. Croft was very good also
Remember Coach Wheeler's stellar efforts in 'Health'? 'Open to page 127. Start copying the book.' Fantastic teacher. Not many people could pull that 'learning style' off.

ok Brandy I remember patrick and the staple but I thought it was a paper clip...mrs. kolb blew up and asked him if he was stupid. that was funny. I remember playing at recess and patrick george and billy moore were Matrix and Maverick. can't remember what we were playing but thats what there names were. Chad...do you remember Mr. Wheelers "smokin suzie"?" that doll that smoked his cigarette. I don't recall much of thormans class I think I had a crush on him. those were the days....lol Remember getting to dress up for haloween every year. None of that for my kids, they won't allow it in school now. All books and no fun, will our kids have memories like ours and be able to reflect on good time like we do? Lord only knows.

Robyn and Brandy, do either of you remeber a red haired girl in our grade in Elementary named 'Carrie'? Don't recall her last name. Think she had freckles. I don't remember if she was with us in Junior High any. When you mentioned wearing Halloween costumes to school it reminded me of her because she made fun of my costume in 3rd or 4th grade. What was her name?
5th Grade I showed up dressed like Indiana Jones for Halloween and I remember being excited when Mrs. Kolb knew who I was supposed to be as soon as she walked in the door. I'm pretty sure there was a toy pistola involved, too. Indy doesn't go anywhere without his bullwhip and revolver. Imagine that today? It would be the top story on CNN.
I wonder about our kids' school days and if they'll be any fun at all. We had 3 recesses when I was in Elementary. I don't know about Chouteau now but my wife's school has only one. No wonder the kids act like savages in the classroom!

Oh Chad you gave me grief all through school!!! LOL! You are one of those people who figures into nearly all my elementary memories hahaha
There are so many things that happened to us in school that just couldn't ever happen nowadays. I think this "dumbing down" of the world is a real tragedy, because all that's going to come of it is a bunch of adults that can't handle the real world. My kids honestly have no idea how many times I got made fun of in school, and while I know it was worse for some kids, I couldn't imagine running to my dad and asking him to fix it for me!
Though I wonder how many memories, and what kinds of memories our kids are going to have when they're grown. I remember having my first "boyfriend" (like, long term, actual not just pretend boyfriend) at like....13 or 14....my son has been going with the same girl for nearly two years!! He's 12!!!!!! WTF?! I admire his commitment and I really like the girl, but good grief!! Do they have to grow up so fast?
I remember Coach Wheeler's class....I used to get so picked on in that class. I guess that's what I got for being so quiet. lol And Coach Thorman, I think I had him in one subject or another every single year of high school. Anybody remember Mr. Yoakum? (I think that's how you spell it) He tried so hard to teach me algebra....But I'm like you Chad...I wasn't born with that part of the brain. I should get some sort of disability for that, don't you think?
I don't remember Carrie......and I don't have any yearbooks that go back that far. hmmm....
And I do remember Smokin' Suzie. LOL Always thought that was so gross. LOL Which is weird cause both my mom and Dad smoke. And I remember the day in band when we realized that Cheryl's thumbs weren't the same. haha Course, now I realize that mine aren't either.

Chad I remember Carrie with long straihgt red hair but I can't remember her last name. Guess I'll have to pull out the yearbooks sometime. Why are we the only 3 ever on here? Are we dorks? LOL I rememebr discovering Cheryls hammer thumb on the bus ride home. Funny how Rachel blossomed in high school too huh? Finally let her hair down, remember the one ponytail braid? Do you guys remember going to the halloween carnivals at school with the jail in there? I remember frank klucevsek dressed up as Aunt Jemima (wrong spell) can you imagine that now days? I dont remember indy, Chad but props to Mrs. Kolb for knowing who you were. lol
I think I went as a Hooker for like 3 years in a row. My daughter will never dress like that, good Lord what was my mother thinking....wait did she even know? Hey when are we all gonna get together? We don't have to wait for our 20th reunion you know.

I'd like to see everyone again. There was sure a lot of interest in a reunion. It's just tough because you try setting a date and people start saying they have other engagements and can't go. I think the key is to not make a big production like we tried to do, with renting the plaza and so on. Just say, 'everyone show up at the Chouteau Park or some community center somewhere at this date and time.' Then you post some pics on a website for those who didn't show up. There is a large set of covered picnic tables at Bluebill Point campground that our church uses occasionally for outdoor get togethers. That might be a good choice sometime in the summer. Some people could bring boats. We can fit 10 people on ours, heck, that's 1/3 of our class! Of course, most of us come with a larger entourage now. If everyone could have married within our class it would have been a lot simpler to organize. Geez, people...
I just realized not only did we do that, but my cousins Jason and Adam Stutzman did too. And they married two sisters. Their kids are more like siblings than cousins, genetically. (Still not sure if that is entirely legal.) Our poor daughter will be the younger tagalong. So not fair.
Isn't it obvious why we are the main posters? We're the coolest and the smartest of our grades! (You remember school how you want, I'll remember it how I want.)
