Re:20 weeks! - 2007/03/20 17:40 Rowan is cool! Joe & I had a terrible time agreeing on a name for our daughter. I'd never get him to consider anything even close to that! I agree with you about Morgan. I've always thought of it as a boy name, but it seems like names are becoming more unisex all the time.

Re:20 weeks! - 2007/03/22 07:38 LOL about the Morgan thing. haha I have a friend who named her daughter that.

Rowan is a name I got from a book (yes, we all know what a bookworm I am) that I read about a million years ago. And we only agreed on that because there aren't any more Star Trek names that he would agree on. Darnit! (Both my girls are named after Star Trek characters, feel free to call me a geek now )

and Yea...Barry + Morgan would weird me out too...but I do know a lady named David-Ann.......O_o

Re:20 weeks! - 2007/03/22 19:34 You need a girl's name from Star Trek? Easy - '7 of 9'. Nothing odd about that!

Another peev of mine is when people give their kid a first name that is really a surname. For boys it is just annoying, but it's a serious problem for girls because you automatically preclude her from being able to marry a guy with that surname. Those are low odds, granted, but if thousands of parents do that it will be a problem for some women one day.
(I apologize if someone who named their kid 'Smith Johnson' or 'Reynolds Thomas', etc, is offended.)

Having said that, I realize people can name their kid whatever they want (Just look at celebrities) and don't need my approval, yadda yadda.

Ok, done. I feel better now.

Update:
Ok, I posted this earlier today, and last night we go out to eat. The 3 boys in the booth behind us are named Carson, Jordan and Connor! I couldn't help but think the universe was trying to get me to lighten up. I will consider it.
