Re:Dean Kroeker - 2006/11/15 16:11 i when to the funeral it was a wounderful thing to see so many people there who knew and cared for Papa K , i think the memorie that will always stay with me about him was when we were on our choir trip last year and he and mama K just broke out singing "Mama sang Tiner Papa sang Bass" and the smile on his face that day i will never forget! Mama K returned to school yesterday for the last to hours, she is holding up pretty good. Righ now she is just trying to keep busy with our yearly play, Which is open to the public this Sat. Night it won't be the say with out Papa K but as he always said THE SHOW MUST GO ON!

Re:Dean Kroeker - 2008/02/21 22:39 Awwe.. I've since graduated in '07, but Mr. Kroeker was the greatest man I've ever known. I first met him when I was about 10 in the 5th grade... I played flute for him all the way until I was a Sophomore in HS. That was the year he moved to Mazie... I can remember him telling me personally about 2 days before the Band/Music Coronation, in which I was the Junior Attendent that year, that he was moving. I was sooo sad because he was my all time favorite... Mr. Kroeker and my grandpa were great friends, and I respected him no matter what. He was an excellent musician and a great person to meet and understand. There wasn't nothing that you couldn't talk to him about, it he would always make you laugh 24/7. Alot of people didn't like him; they said REALLY aweful things about him by means of him being "soft, or an easy A"... I am here to day to set the record straight that Mr. Kroeker was a fair man... he only cared for the people who was in band to be musicians and really apply themselves to the industry of music! He did give A's cause he knew that some people just didn't have it in them to ever make an A.. he knew how hard school was, but when it came to band... that was totalyl different. He appreciated every thought and every note that was played and practiced on his time, and on our own personal time by practicing. When Tri-State came around, he was sure to recognize every student that worked hard, and nobody was ever his favorite... we were all his "kids" and he loved us all wheather we were the worst musicians or the best he'd ever had! But fortunatly.. he never had a "bad band.." He taught us all music so well that we excelled even in the depths of our hearts because we knew we had someone who cared for us like a family cause after all.. we're a "BAND" of people who "BAND" together to be happy through music!! I could say sooo much... but my defining moments that I truly remember with Mr. Kroeker are many.. but the true moments are these: When I got the honor of Mr. Kroeker doing my announcemnts at my Band Coronation in 2004, and I'll never forget when he told me I made Honor Band when I was in the 7th Grade! He made me feel like a princess and like I was the best flute player to ever walk the Earth! Also.. when I made Tri-State Honor Band... he made such a to-do over us kids who made it... it was unbelieveable!!! And lastly.. when I did a flute solo and vocal solo back to back.. he went with me on BOTH solo.. even vocal... and he gave me the biggest bear hugs and said "YOU MADE A 1 SARA!" and hugged me even more!!! Mr. Kroeker loved us all so much, and I will never forget him as long as I live!!!! He has inspired me so much musically.. and ever time I saw him, no matter what the occasion, I always made an effort to say hello and give him a hug cause I respected the man that much!!! He will be missed forever and I am in truly devastated that he's gone! BUT!!!! I know that he was a Christian, and God has blessed him and his family for many years and he is now walking the streets of gold playing and singing for the LORD!!!! GOD BLESS MR. KROEKER!!! HE WAS TRULY THE BAND MAN OF THE CENTURY!!!!!!!!!

With Love,
Sara Ruth Dailey!
THANK YOU MR. KROEKER!

Re:Dean Kroeker - 2008/02/21 23:37 Sara that was a wonderful post.

I, too, was a band kid...I had known Mr. Kroeker my whole life...he went to school with my uncle and Dad. I have always been impressed with how much he and Mrs. Kroeker gave of themselves to the Music Department at Chouteau School. I think there for awhile I spent more time with the Kroekers than I did with my own family! He always went out of his way to be understanding of his students, and he really made my night Senior Night in Football my Sr. year. He knows what he did, and it's something that will be close to my heart till the day I die.
