Thomas' Restaurant Burns Down - 2006/05/19 04:10 I spent so much time in there growing up....my step-grandmother worked as a waitress in there till she retired...and my dad and I ate dinner in there A LOT after I divorced my husband. I nearly cried when I saw it on the news earlier...it's like a big part of my childhood is gone forever....

I know a lot of people didn't like the place...or had some really gruesome stories to tell, but I always loved it, and have nothing but good memories.

Re:Thomas' Restaurant Burns Down - 2006/05/19 05:31 Wasn't this located on 69 in Pryor? I don't remember ever eating in there if that's the one, but I drove by it all the time. Paul Anderson - The Class of '98

Re:Thomas' Restaurant Burns Down - 2006/06/14 20:58 I can't believe it's gone! They had the best fried chicken and cream gravy. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Oh well, I guess I'll mark that off my list of joints to revisit if/when I get back to that side of the world. Please tell me that JL's is still there!

Re:Thomas' Restaurant Burns Down - 2006/06/16 14:56 Well, if you want really good chicken fried chicken, you need to stop by White Horn Cove restaraunt. They have had about 4 owners in 2 years but the current guy has the food back up about as good as it used to be.
The CFC there is as good as The Depot used to be before it closed.

It is a tragedy about Thomas's. That place was a Pryor institution. We should be thankful that all of the old people got out in time.

Re:Thomas' Restaurant Burns Down - 2006/06/24 08:05 hehe
that was bad Chad. But soo true!!!

I heard they were going to rebuild. But I haven't talked to Darrell or Darrell Jr. in ages...I know Darrell Jr and his wife (Mrs. Schultz's daughter) were taking over the restaurant and had just exteded their hours...so I wonder....
