Boatcephus Visitor	What restaraunts can a guy light up in anymore?!? - 2006/04/13 23:58 HA! Just kidding! Just trying to stir the pot! Actually, I think it's great most places we eat are smoke free now. It saves me a lot of scowling and verbal barbs in public. It was only a matter of time before I got my come-uppance, and now I don't have to worry about it coming from an angry Goldies patron anymore! Anyone have an opinion on the smoking ban??? I'm betting you do!

It is like lets make it really hard for smokers but lets boost drinking, glamourize it, make it sexy, and of course you can always get the best looking girl/guy! Lets get real, how many people are hurt, killed, raped, or addicted? I feel something should be done like banning commercials and magazine ads!

Lets face it. Smoking a cigarette or drinking a beer starts with peer pressure. I'm not sure I know of anyone who picked up a cigartte one time and was addicted. Or picked up a shot of whiskey and was hooked. You don't normally like it the first time. You do it to look cool. If a child grows up with good morals and a healthy self esteem they don't feel like they need to do that to be accepted. (not a smoker either but an admitted Diet Dr.Pepper-aholic)

But the whole thing on lighting up in public places verses having an alcoholic beverage is normally the beverage doesn't affect the people sitting at the table next to you. When I have Emma with me and when I was pregnant with her I would not walk into to a place that made you walk through a smoking section in order to sit in nonsmoking or that will allowing smoking where ever you sit. But if I walk in there and see a few people drinking I am not going to get up and walk out because nine times out of ten that is not affecting Emma or my lungs. The only person that is affecting is them. (normally) Kimberly Morgan

I don't really lean one way or the other on this one I think everybody has just as much right to what they do as the next person. I'm not a smoker, but I think the air I'm breathing is just as much the guy next to me as it is mine.
