Truck Stop - 2008/06/01 07:56 I'm gonna be crying about it being gone forever. It's almost 1 in the morning and a bag of french fries sounds so good. ( ha ha lol Brandy ) A club and chicken fried steaks was the bestest ever ! Alot better then the Mickey D's that is there now.

Re:Truck Stop - 2008/06/02 15:15 What, no burger basket???
Yeah, we miss it too. The food was extra greasy and the service was often lousey. The old timers and truckers smoked it up in there so bad your eyes would burn. But it was a Chouteau staple for post-football and basketball games. We kept coming back.
It was great to run up there when everything else was closed for a midnight snack. But now that we have kids that doesn't matter anyway.

We were eating there with my inlaws after a game one time and a high school kid walked in and sucker punched another boy in the face. Then he ran out while the other kid was asking who he was. My inlaws knew both boys and said the one that got hit was a good kid. They couldn't imagine what it was about.

I always will regret that moment, because I think it was my one chance ever to have picked up a chair and busted it over someone's back and initiated a real truck stop-style brawl. Might have been hauled off by the P.D., but man, what a great item for my adventure resume!

Re:Truck Stop - 2008/06/03 16:12 Nah. What year did you graduate, '99?

I probably have socks older than you. Talk to me when you cross 30. It's the continental divide of life; it's all downhill from there.

Now Robyn Gardine, she's getting pretty bloomin' old.
(Sorry Robyn. Marry whomever you like..... you'll always be Gardine!)
