Chouteau School Website? - 2008/05/07 21:12 I've been assured at every Parent-Teacher Conference for the past two years that Chouteau Schools are going to be setting up a website where we can check our kids' grades and the teachers can email the parents and such...does anybody actually have any idea if this is really going to happen? And if it IS going to happen...when? It would make life SO much easier if I could communicate with my kids' teachers through email and keep up with their grades online instead of having to send a note, wait three days for it to actually get TO the teachers...then wait for a reply...then three more days for my kids to actually bring them home...lol So...any ideas folks?

Re:Chouteau School Website? - 2008/05/07 23:10 I don't have kids yet... and I don't live in Chouteau anymore but I can agree completely that this is something that needs to be addressed.

There are some pretty slick systems out there to do exactly what you have described.

Keep us updated if they do finally get something going.

Re:Chouteau School Website? - 2008/05/08 17:02 Yes, I have the solution: Send your kids to Union or Jenks.

But seriously....the teachers have it just as bad. There is no IT position on staff. So when they have a problem they can't fix themselves they have to turn in a work order and wait 2-3 weeks for the guy they contract for support to get to it. That's not a slight agaisnt him, because I'm sure when he's on site he's going full speed accomplishing as much as he can as fast as he can. IT triage is not fun, I've been there.

I keep hoping they will budget a full time System Administrator position because I'm DYING to work close to home. Ya hear me, Google?????? As long as it pays close to what I make now, I will apply at least.

Then I will tell OPEC to shove it. I will hang an orange triangle on my ATV and ride it to work!

Re:Chouteau School Website? - 2008/05/10 02:49 You have a point Chad. I never really thought about there not being an IT position there. Kinda funny that Pryor has one though. I know they're a bigger school...but could you imagine doing IT for that pack of schools? Yech. I wouldn't want to. Or maybe I would... PHENOMINAL COSMIC POWER! or something like that. haha

It would be pretty darned frustrating to have a computer issue you can't deal with yourself and have to wait forever and a day to get it fixed. But then, I'm the person in the family everyone calls to fix their computers. I really should open a business. I'd make a fortune just off my family. LOL
