ok, I went to prison boot camp... yea, i know, sounds dumb, but I got three years off. Anyhow, as for situps and crunches, YES they do tighten up the midsection, unfortunately, you have to do like a million of them before you see the results. Running is great, but you said it tears up your knees... how bout biking? that's what I do here in Colorado to keep in shape, find some hills and start riding!
