Any Word - 2008/03/29 06:26 I was just curious if anyone has heard news on Mr. and Mrs. Ashley. I recieved a call from my cousin who work at the school she told there had been an accident. I do not know what has happened but just want to say my prayers go out to those involved may God be with and comfort you.

Re:Any Word - 2008/03/29 06:33 I received an e-mail from Mrs. Holland, she said that Mrs. Ashley and Mrs. Hannah have both passed away and Mr. Ashley is in serious condition in Bartlesville. She does not know when/where the services will be held.

My thoughts and prayers are w/ them as well.

Re:Any Word - 2008/03/29 07:10 That's the last we've heard. I had been debating posting anything all evening and refrained. I just didn't want any of the families or close friends to read about it on the internet first.

It's just really terrible. I don't know what else you can say. Our prayers are certainly with the families.

A lot of kids benefited greatly from those two educators. It's just a tragic day for Chouteau.

Re:Any Word - 2008/03/29 07:17 It's true about Mrs. Hannah and Mr. and Mrs. Ashley. I had to see the news story on NewsOn6.com to fully believe this shocking accident. (I'm still in shock with Mr. Kroeker's death.) Mr. Ashley is in a hospital in Bartlesville, according to the news story. If anyone hears about funeral, please post it. Mrs. Ashley was my 2nd grade teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Ashley, Jennifer, and Jim Bob. Take us to the Threshold!- Shannon K.

Re:Any Word - 2008/03/29 11:23 I'm still in shock. I was in Tulsa when I heard the news...and it still hasn't really hit me completely. I haven't been able to sleep. My prayers are with Mr. Ashley, Jim Bob and Jennifer. I haven't heard anything more on his condition. I was like you, Chad, I contemplated posting something but I was a little afraid to. I guess saying something about it would make it true. This is going to be so hard to tell my kids. It's already so hard to tell my heart.

Please, when someone hears about services let us know.

Re:Any Word - 2008/03/29 15:38 BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say two Chouteau women were killed today when the car in which they were riding collided with a pickup truck on a Washington County road.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 61-year-old Betty Ashley and 54-year-old Joana K. Hanna sustained massive injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:23 p.m. accident near Bartlesville.

According to the partrol, a truck driven by James Dawson Eckhart was headed south on a county road as the 1998 Ford carrying the women was traveling west on another road.

Troopers say as the vehicles neared an intersection, the truck failed to yield at the stop sign and struck the car.

The driver of the car, 64-year-old James Ashley, was admitted to Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville hospital in fair condition.

Troopers say the 18-year-old Eckhart was treated for head and leg injuries and released.
