Anyone remember Mrs. Roberson's Home Ec? - 2008/02/28 20:29 I had so much fun in Mrs. Roberson's Home Economics classes! I remember that the year she retired, we talked her into letting us cross stitch for 9 weeks! I also remember that my friend Amy was responsible for the iron print burned into the carpet! It was also funny seeing the guys try to sew! Did anyone else have to take "baby think it over" home? I got "2 counts of neglect" because I didn't wake up at night when it cried! I remember one of the guys that had it stuck it in the refrigerator to muffle it's cries so he could sleep. Mrs. Roberson knew how to balance fun with work. She was such an awesome teacher!

I remember she wanted to send the Baby Think It over thing home with me after I had Kory. I told her if it woke my baby up I'd put the damn thing in the oven. She decided I had enough to think over. ROTF!!

She was a great teacher, so much like my grandma I couldn't act up in her class. Me and Danny Croft were the only guys in our class, and we had a blast teasing the girls.
Michelle (my wife) took her Home Ec classes 3 times! You would think I could get her to sew a button back on my shirt now and then.

You know... Mrs Roberson never sent that thing home with me. I think I'm insulted!

Maybe it wasn't Mrs Roberson...hmm...seems like she was retired by 96...Mrs DeLozier? Was that her name? Either way, the Home Ec teacher and I had issues. LOL Course...that year, EVERYONE had issues with me. The principal that year, and I won't name names, told me I needed to quit and get my GED cause I made being a teenage mom look "easy and glamorous". I was just...WTF?! Easy? Being a mom ANYTIME isn't easy, and everyone who knew me knew how hard I worked at it. So I kindly told him to screw off. I wasn't that nice about it though. I told him I was going to graduate, because everyone told me when I had Kory that I wouldn't. And I was going to graduate there, at that school, because it was where I had gone to school my whole life. And the only way he was going to get rid of me was by expelling me, and he had no reason to.

We agreed to avoid each other after that. LOL I went from being rather quiet my first 11 years in school to being rather mouthy that last year. I still can't believe I got away with some of the things I said and did that last year in school...haha
