The Stanley Cup - 2008/03/09 07:35 So did anyone else get to Tulsa to see it today? We did. Dan (my hubby) being Canadian and all we couldn't dare miss it. And as a result, have the MOST amazing picture EVER!!! Most of you probably don't care one whit about hockey, but it's a mainstay around our house. And this picture will be an heirloom forever I think.

Anyway...the story:

The Stanley Cup was in Tulsa today, for viewing, for like 2 1/2 hours...and we got to see it/touch it/put Abby IN it! OMFG the coolest thing ever to happen to me. Dan is absolutely over the moon about it! LOOK at that smile!!!! And she was an absolute angel through the whole waiting in line, and all the being put in it and all that. We have other pics of it here:

But honestly, how many people can say their baby has gotten to sit IN Lord Stanley's Cup? This is something she's going to be able to have for the rest of her life (it's being burned on a CD and put in my Dad's fireproof safe). lmao I never in my life thought I'd ever be able to see the Cup...much less touch it and have my picture taken with it. And when they told us to put Abby IN it...I nearly DIED! And Dan was like...HELL YES! So we did, and got a FABULOUS picture. I'm so excited!!!

Re:The Stanley Cup - 2008/03/10 16:01 That is awesome! You're right, a lot of folks around here may not appreciate the opportunity.

I can though!

Here is a pic of Lauren when she saw my new Stanley tape measure...

Re:The Stanley Cup - 2008/03/10 18:52 OH MY GOSH Chad she's getting so big!!!!!!

I love the expression on her face...hehe She's so adorable! I request a clearer picture of her though. I can't believe how big she is!!

But then, I think about Abby...she'll turn 1 next month. O_O

Yea, seeing the Cup was a HUGE deal in our household. Dan hasn't stopped smiling yet. He has the pic of Abby in the Cup as his background on his phone, and I Have a feeling it's only a matter of time before it ends up being his wallpaper on the computer. lol The two most important things in the world to him. Alas, I am a distant third. At least he has priorities. I guess I can take third after the baby and the oldest trophy in sports.

Re:The Stanley Cup - 2008/03/10 19:18 Haha, thought I'd zing you a little.

Sadly most of our recent pics are with my cruddy camera phone because I always have it with me when she does something I want to photograph. I'll have to take some new pics with a decent camera and post them.

She's 16 months old now and quite the daredevil. If you look away for a moment she will climb up on some little precarious perch and you will turn around and get a shock. It's amazing what she will balance and stand on. She did some backwards scuba dive off a step at my parent's house and my dad laid out to make a stretching one handed save just before she hit the ground. Instead of crying she laughed and was really tickled about it. I'm afraid my luck of having never broken a bone may not extend to her.

Re:The Stanley Cup - 2008/03/10 21:29 Oh my! Kathryn was like that!! Abby looks like she may follow that trend. I hadn't had a broken bone till I was 28, though the Dr can't figure out how. I have a birth defect in my pinky fingers, my bones are too curved. So if I hit ANYTHING they should break. Or so the Dr says. lol Yes, we need recent pictures of the lil daredevil! And I know what you mean about the phone being the only camera close. Most of the pictures I have of Abby are phone pictures. lol

And yea Kim...Dan's on cloud 9! lol Dad has decided we're going to put those pictures on a CD and put them in the Safe Deposit box at the bank. lol
