Re:The second Ice Storm of 07.... - 2007/12/17 21:25 Not to mention a new respect for Gas stoves and oil lamps. Or maybe that's just my take on it.

I learned that my kids actually CAN get along when they don't have cable and going outside to play to entertain them. And I think they learned it too. They sat in front of our fireplace and played cards.

OH one thing I do want to pass one to you all, has anyone seen those flashlights you shake to charge? The ones that don't use a battery? Well, we have two of them, and they work great. Just a little pass it along, for times when we lose power, and they'd be great to keep in a vehicle for breakdowns and such. You can get them back in sporting goods at Walmart.

Re:The second Ice Storm of 07.... - 2007/12/18 05:39 IM GLAD YOU ALL STUCK IT OUT AT HOME BUT IM A PUSS AND WE WENT TO THE NEIGHBORS FOR POWER. I REALIZED I CAN'T STAND MY KIDS. I LOVE EM BUT BOY HOWDY AFTER 1 DAY OF TRYING TO ENTERTAIN THEM WITH NO POWER...GOOD GOSH I JUST COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. THE NEIGHBORS HAD TV AND A PLAYSTATION THE KIDS WERE GIDDY AND SO WAS I.
AS FOR A NEW RESPECT FOR THE AMISH...THATS NO JOKE. I PRAISE THEM FOR THE ABILITY TO DO WHAT THEY DO AND MAINTAIN THEIR WAY OF LIFE. I REALIZED I WOULD RATHER BURY MY BODY IN THE BACKWARD AND PRAY FOR ANTS TO EAT MY EYES OUT THEN TO GO FOREVER WITH NO POWER. LIKE I SAID IM A PUSS.
WE DO HAVE A CLEAN FRIDGE THOUGH. LOL
ANOTHER WINTER ANOTHER ICE STORM ANOTHER DAY LIVING IN OKLAHOMA.

Re:The second Ice Storm of 07.... - 2007/12/18 14:51 Robyn, that has to be the most honest answer anyone could give! 'I can't stand my kids.' That is classic!

Yes, give me the juice!

Re:The second Ice Storm of 07.... - 2007/12/20 14:58 No grief from me. I don't know how some people do it. If Michelle didn't take up so much child-rearing slack of mine, I'd probably go mad.
Yeah, these ear infections have pushed me to the limit. Our little girl is finally getting tubes in a couple weeks. We just have to make it to then. Can't wait to have her back to normal.... and for us to get some rest.
