Re:The second Ice Storm of 07.... - 2007/12/14 15:31 Yep, we got it back last night (Thursday) at 8:00pm. Our brand new generator already broke down right before that, so it was good timing. Yeah, that Coleman had a warranty of 2 years. It did not run even 2 days!

So everyone can plug their Christmas lights back in and I won't rip them down now in a frenzy of electricity envy.

Hope everyone is staying warm. I know I enjoyed my hot shower. I'm praying the weather over the weekend doesn't knock our power back out because I may just snap.

Re:The second Ice Storm of 07.... - 2007/12/14 21:18 hehe I thought about you this morning when I turned the TV on and saw it was gonna snow, Chad.

Anybody seen the damage to the tree in Mr Ashley's front yard? YIKES! Looks like it exploded or something. Hope nobody got hurt and there isn't too much property damage. I got some pics of it with my phone, I'll put them on my computer and see if they're any good...

Anybody have any property damage? Anybody need any help?

Re:The second Ice Storm of 07.... - 2007/12/14 23:23 We never did lose electricity and yes we did keep our Christmas lights on! Sorry Chad! Our house remained lit inside and out. I was truly thankful that we never lost power, especially since we have a 2 month old and a 4 year old. We did have Joe's family stay with us part of the time. We lost tree branches more than anything else.

Re:The second Ice Storm of 07.... - 2007/12/15 03:05 CHAD I FEEL YA ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS. EVERYTIME I SAW A HOUSE WITH THEM ON I ROLLED DOWN MY WINDOW AND SPAT AT THEM. BUT NOW THAT WE HAVE POWER IT'S ALL GOOD. LIGHT IT UP!
I PUT PICS OF OUR TREES ON MY MYSPACE WE LOST 1 AND ONE LOOKS SAD AND 3 BIG LIMBS OFF THE COTTON WOOD IN THE BACKYARD. KINDA WAS HOPIN THAT ONE WOULD HAVE FALLEN ON THE FENCE. lol

ANYONE NEED FIRE WOOD? THE CITY HERE PICKS IT UP ON THE CURB NOT LIKE IN CHOUTEAU WHERE YOU CAN BURN IT IN THE BACKYARD.

Re:The second Ice Storm of 07.... - 2007/12/17 14:58 It's nice to get back into the routine, though our house needs a little more cleaning up after a week long camp out in our Den. Thought I'd make some headway this weekend and got sick. As usual, I got better just in time to go to work.

I'm glad I wasn't the only person offended by the fortunate people who had electricity, wasting precious amps on their Christmas lights! While we were having to bed down at 5:30pm!Talk about getting an education about the "haves" and the "have nots"!
I think the folks with power should have been stringing those lights together and running them over to a neighbor without power!

But mine are back on too. So now we can all pretend it never happened and get on with Christmas preparations with our newly cleaned out refrigerators.

Hope all of you weathered the storm with nothing worse than a few broken tree limbs and a new respect for the Amish lifestyle!
