Guys, seriously, what's wrong with you?? - 2007/12/04 05:45
While my wife is buying some groceries at Wal Mart I stop in to get my haircut. There's two workers on hand and both are busy with a customer, but I'm next in line. One proceeds to take care of 3 people who came in AFTER I signed up, the other works on a high school boy the whole time I wait. After 35 minutes, I walk out annoyed, hungry, and a little embarassed for the dude that the second stylist is working on. She worked on the same guy the whole time I was waiting!
Folks, is this common? Now, I'm out of touch with pop culture, I know. Even when I was a kid, I was out of touch with it. With luck, I will remain so.
But guys, your haircut should NEVER take more than 15 minutes, tops! And it should NEVER EVER involve a curling iron! What the heck?!? From what I could tell on my way out the door, he looked basically like Animal from The Muppets.
I know some misguided people are courageously trying to bring back some 70s styles. But that era needs to remain firmly entrenched in the bottom layers of America's landfills.
I mean, if styles from the 70's are modern again, then our kitchen and bathrooms are ultra modern. And take it from me; they're not.
Have the back panels of the wall mounted Senior picture rack in the Chouteau High School plaza taught us nothing? Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it!
Guys, I don't know squat about hairstyles, but I'm going to share what little I have learned with you. Use this guide to help you pick a dude's hairstyle, and also what 'dos' to don't.

Can't say I agree on the totally bald thing, but I agree that some of the hairstyles these days are questionable. But then, my son is one of those who wants to do weird things with his hair and has decided to grow it out. I'm hoping beyond hope that he grows out of it. haha
I don't understand the appeal of having a guy with more styling products in his hair than I use. *shrug* I don't get it at all.

Glad you got a good laugh! I admit that by the end I was just posting stuff to amuse myself. I really started out typing it in a bad mood because of what I had to deal with, but by the end I was cracking up too much to be mad still.
I may even try to get my hair cut tonight after work. I can't stand when it touches my ears! GHAAAAR!

OK CHAD I JUST POLLED MY DAUGHTER WHO IS 9 BY THE WAY. SHE HAS TOLD ME THAT PIC #1 YES THAT'S COOL. #2 NO WAY, SAME AS #3 & 4 BUT NUMBER 5 THATS COOL BUT THE REST WERE YUCK WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE GALADIATOR WHO WAS QUOTE "ALRIGHT". THIS IS THE NEW ERA BUT I HAVE TO SAY FOR MYSELF I'M WITH MY DAUGHTER ON THIS ONE. BUT I THE RUSSELL CROWE IS A HOTTIE. SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA JUST TAKE THAT LEAP AND MAKE A CHANGE. GOOD LUCK.

Ok...the bald one, while Patrick Stewart is a very handsome man, and he will always be someone who was a big part of my childhood (yea, pretend you didn't know I'm a Trekkie! ) I'm still in denial cause my husband is going bald. I'll admit it. He is. *shrug*
But he keeps his hair short (though I like it a bit shaggier). I really don't get some of the hairstyles these days. I used to work with a guy who spent nearly two hours a day doing his hair. Used to use "hair glue" and all sorts of scary stuff in it. Just to make it stick up in clumps all over his head and make it look like he just got out of bed. I won't let Kory go to school lookin like that. Now, he doesn't always look like the boys looked when we were in school...I distinctly remember everybody we went to school with looking very trimmed and always looking nice. Maybe I just forgot the messy parts I don't know. ANYWAY, the point is, I just don't get it. I don't understand the styles these days. But I'll never deny that I've not always been on top of the latest fashion. It's always been more about comfort for me.

Hey now, you are all supposed to be evaluating guy's hair styles, not the actual people.
Brandy, that dude you described must be from one of the coasts or something. No guy should take that long to comb his hair. If he does, he needs to turn in his Man Card to Burt Reynolds in person.
Man Law: Never take more than 2 minutes to groom your hair unless A) you wear a rug or 2) you employ a complex and dexterously challenging combover.
