Familiar faces on TV during Bedlam. - 2007/11/26 15:32 So I'm watching OU stuff OSU's 'World's Best Offense' and talk about a shock! The camera pans over the crowd and who do I see in the front row totally hamming it up for TV??? My uncle Dennis and my cousins Adam and Austin Stutzman and our cousin Timmy Moore! Jason Stutzman was behind them but didn't make the shot. They were front and center, no missing them. I called Adam right after and told him they had been on TV.

I had recorded it on our DVR but so far I haven't been able to export either still images or the video. I called Dish Network and they were no help. Something about Copyright laws. Bah, a pirate cares nothing about broadcast rights.

So if anyone knows how to export video from a Dish Network DVR, please let me know! Adam wants me to put it on You Tube. That would be too funny!

Re:Familiar faces on TV during Bedlam. - 2007/11/26 20:07 GOOD GRIEF GOOGLE IT! lol Google can tell you how to do ANYTHING!

And I LOVE stuff like that!! It's like my cousin being on the Today show...she recorded that puppy and sent it to EVERYBODY. lmao I'll see what I can find out. That's just so cool! I know (apparently) a lot of people who were there. lol

Edit: Here's a few answers I've found:

You will need to purchase a TV Tuner Capture card for your PC. Then connect the DVR's coaxial, or RCA Audio Video, or S-Video and RCA Audio cables from the DVR to a PC. Hit play on the DVR
Hit record on the PCs Capture card Software
Once it has been recorded onto the hard drive you can edit and then burn to DVD.

and a couple of sites that might be able to answer your questions. I haven't checked these out so I can't vouch for them though!!!

Re:Familiar faces on TV during Bedlam. - 2007/11/27 21:15 Yep... she's correct. Another option is to setup another camera and record it off the tv. You lose quality but... you'll get the point. Paul Anderson - The Class of '98

Re:Familiar faces on TV during Bedlam. - 2007/11/28 03:07 Hey Paul can I quote you on that? Just to tell my husband it *does* happen sometimes? LOL

Re:Familiar faces on TV during Bedlam. - 2007/11/28 15:47 Brandy, it's no fun being addressed like I address my clueless users at work. 'JFGI' is how we respond to dumb Help Desk calls - Just Freaking Google It!

I wanted to get a high quality export from my DVR but I may have to settle for video taping it. I tried to record it off our TV to our camcorder and that didn't work either. I think our cam corder ports are just for output, not input.

Dish Network says you can plug in an external USB hard drive and export it that way. So I brought one home from work and plugged it in. I then got a message that I need to call Dish Network to activate that feature. When I called them , it was going to be $40 to activate it, which annoyed me and I hung up. My monthly subscription should cover anything I want to do with my DVR.
My PC's 3D video card may work as a capture card, so that's a good idea to try if I ever get any time again.

So is anyone going to the Chouteau Christmas parade? I'd like to see if my dad would enter his surrey and take our kid. She has that Queen Elizabeth wave down pat. That would be really neat.
It's probably too late to get approved by the city council or something. That's the kind of red tape Mayor Chad would eliminate! And anyone driving tractors on the highway or town streets? Get ready to carry a driver's license and insurance verification!
Robyn, tell your dad I'll install speedbumps in Chouteau Hills. He should like that.
