Woo for Sun!! - 2007/07/17 21:12 So Miss Pasty-pale me is sunburned. LOL! I've spent three days working on getting our pool back into shape, and I am a bit crispy. Kory is his usual dark dark brown self (wish I tanned like that!).

What's everybody else been doing in the nice weather? Besides yard work. heh

Re:Woo for Sun!! - 2007/07/17 21:23 It seems as if my husband has been mowing our grass every other day for the past 2 months I think we can finally slow down on it now. We actually got to redo our shed now I have to paint it. Any volunteers?.....

Re:Woo for Sun!! - 2007/07/18 14:52 I would kill for some "nice weather" right about now. It has been between 115-120 here during the days for the last month or so. I think we topped 120 a couple of times. It will only get hotter before it cools down too. Add some good blowing sand and dirt, and you have a wonderful Iraqi day. lol. I would love to sit out and try to tan, but not here. We aren't allowed to take our long sleeve uniform tops off unless we are doing strenuous work outdoors, and they can't be off for more than about 30 minutes or so. They don't want people getting real bad sunburns and then being out of work or unavailable for missions waiting on it to heal. I do have one hell of a farmers tan though. lol. I hope that everyone is having a fun summer and spending tons of time with their families and kids. I should be going back to the states in a couple of months, so I'll keep everyone updated on that. Take care, and I will talk to everyone again soon.

Re:Woo for Sun!! - 2007/07/18 17:50 I can't imagine those temps Vance. When Dan and I went to Vegas when we got married the temps were similar and I stayed in the A/C cause I'm a wimp. I can't imagine having to actually do anything in that type of heat. I think even cleaning a pool in that weather would be like trying to walk around in soup. *shudders*

We've been mowing every dry day we get and it still seems like it's growing faster than we can mow it down. Which reminds me we have to mow again today. Blah. Ah well, better to need to mow and be able to because it's dry than need to and it be too wet with no end to the rain in sight.

Re:Woo for Sun!! - 2007/07/18 19:29 Yeah, I've been slowly regaining my sanity. I'm tired of raking the lawn after I mow, though. I need a bagger or some mulching blades (Do those really work?)
I think we're finally going to get our boat out Friday for only the second time this year! Last time was in May!
Hudson and Ft. Gibson are total write-offs. There's no way I'm going to try to launch on them. So I guess we are going to try Tenkiller for the first time. It's scary getting on a new lake when you don't know the area. If anyone knows where is safe and where to stay away from there, msg me and give me some details. At any rate, I will be watching the depth finder close!
It could be worse, we could have lost our home to flooding, so I won't gripe about our lost summer too bad.
If anyone remembers, we didn't get to boat most of last summer because that nimrod kid t-boned us and it was in the shop all summer. I hate teenagers/young people...aside from my kid.
Vance, you should have joined the Coast Guard dude. Stay safe!

Re:Woo for Sun!! - 2007/07/19 09:35 *seconds Chad's Stay safe comment to Vance*

My pool seems to finally be back in shape. Between the rain, which dumped who knows how much sediment in there, and the 4th and all the crap that rains down out of the sky from fireworks, I thought I was never gonna get it shaped up. But it's clean, and clear, even if it is almost too warm. The kids love it, and that's what really matters anyway. We've had lots of extra kids over too. Which is really fun. It's shaping up to be a fun last couple of weeks before school starts.
