Re:You're not my mother. - 2007/05/11 16:50 Now we've got some conversation going on!

Did some of you think I'm saying mothers don't go through incredible lengths in the process of caring for their kids? I'm sorry if I came across that way!

I'm simply saying; it's Mothers Day. Not Wive's Day, Sister's Day, Grandmother's Day, or Sadie Hawkins Day.

Yes, Mothers do give tremendously of themselves, did anyone say they didn't?

Robyn, you need to train you husband better. Michelle has hardly had to do one load of dishes or laundry since the baby was born. House cleaning, trash, cat litter box, emptying the diaper genie, vacuuming, feeding the cats and dogs and all other house chores on top of lawn care and vehicle maintenance? Me again!

I'm just saying this Holiday is about mom, and personally I don't have two or three or four moms to honor.

For Father's Day, I don't expect anything from my wife, or from my parents, my in laws or from the Yoders down the road.
But I bet my wife helps our baby come up with something!

Fine. I'll take Michelle for a boat ride to Whitehorn Cove restaraunt. (Was going to do that anyway, heh heh.)

Re:You're not my mother. - 2007/05/11 20:54 Chad, the holiday is about "Mothers" Motherhood as a whole. That would include your wife, your mom and your grandmothers. Did you know that my single brother-in-law sends me Mother's Day cards? How sweet! I think I'll keep making my pumpkin roll cake with no walnuts on half just for him!

Now, you, Chad...You don't get any brownie points from your ladies!

Well, I guess everyone has their own opinion. You obviously don't have to think like me. Just know that you're full of baloney! Ok, ok, just kidding! Every family has it's own little "cultural rules" and that's okay.

Re:You're not my mother. - 2007/05/12 04:02 Chad dear Chad...I know I matter because my household wouldn't make it with out me but we honor our mothers every mothers day because our fathers trained us when we were small and once a year they helped us acknowledge our mothers. We do as we are taught. If you get in the habit now of honoring Michelle than as your child grows she will learn to honor her mother. See the pattern here? I honor my mother and my mother-in-law and expect my husband to teach my children to honor me at least once a year.
I actually got my presents today from my children...Nikole gave me a 2nd grade cook book with recipes from all the second graders in her class.(can't make any of it but its the thought.) Taylor made me a card with his pictures on it. I can't wait till your daughter is able to do that for Michelle. Remember 'Honor thy Mother'

BTW HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS OUT THERE!

Now should I buy something for my husband on fathers day? He's Not My Daddy!
