Labor Day Week-end - 2006/08/28 06:16 Just thought I'd see what everyone is doing for Labor Day Week-end. I think we'll be driving to California to see relatives. I am so not looking forward to being stuck in the back of my husband's Ford Ranger for the drive. Oh, I can't wait to get a SUV! We would take our car, but we'll be picking up a boat, so...I'm the lucky back seat passenger. (Our daughter's car seat can't be used in the back) Hope everyone is doing great and has a safe, relaxing week-end!

Re:Labor Day Week-end - 2006/08/29 02:30 We are going to Branson. We go every year on Labor Day Weekend. Hope everyone has a safe holiday.

Re:Labor Day Week-end - 2006/08/30 05:28 We just got our boat back from the repair shop where it has sat all summer. We would like to take it out, but busy holiday weekends are scary for us now on the water. Plus Michelle is now on bed rest. That kid is ready to see the world.
What kind of boat are you guys getting? I suggest Hudson as a safe lake to try it out on. Except of course for the kid in the blue bass boat that likes to run broadside into party barges and nearly flatten you, your spouse, unborn child, and new puppy. But other than that it's a terrific lake.

Allen, here is the link to that composite boat prop I told you about. I really like mine and have yet to replace a blade. I tore up two aluminum props before I got one of these.

Enjoy Branson. We were there a few weeks ago and saw the Dixie Stampede. The North won. I almost threw my plate into the arena and walked out.
If you go to SDC while you are there, you have to ride the
Powder Keg.

We will probably do the usual housework this weekend. Getting the extra bedroom ready for baby Lauren!

Re:Labor Day Week-end - 2006/08/31 14:36 Chad,
Thank you for the website. We still haven't tried Hudson yet. Since it has cooled down a little, we will be getting back out on the boat. We will keep our eye out for the "blue boat guy".
We go to the Dixie Stampede every year. We love it. We have cheered for both the north and the south before. Last year Darla and I were one of the four teams to get to do the horse races in the arena. Unfortunetly we lost because the stupid girl on the other team couldn't keep up with her "horse" and got bucked off. But anyway we sure enjoy going to that show. We are going again this year. The kids really love to go because of all the animals. We also want to go see the Circue. Hopefully it will be worth the $$ to see it. The worst magician in Branson is Kirby Vonkurk and his wife Bambi. Dont waste your time on him.
Good luck with the boat ride this weekend and be careful. Let us know when baby Lauren gets here!

Re:Labor Day Week-end - 2006/08/31 17:25 Actually, I really don't know what kind of boat we're getting! I've never asked Joe. It was his grandfather's boat and his grandma is giving it to him, so I assume it's older. It's a 14' fiberglass boat and that is literally all I know! My husband really likes Lake Heyburn, so my guess is that we'll try it out there.

When is Michelle due with baby Lauren? Lauren is a beautiful name! We almost named Rachel, our daughter, Lauren. Instead Lauren is her middle name.

Allen, have fun in Branson! We usually go to Eureka Springs every couple of years. We like the Redbud Valley Resort cabins & of course, the shopping and eating!
