Re:HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! - 2008/05/15 15:31 As for your question about Michelle, she's getting by. She has a pretty hard time just breathing, and any type of exertion causes contractions. I think she was on bed rest by this time last go-round, so relatively she's doing ok. The main thing is that her school is out after next week, so she's just focusing on that.

So does anyone have any girl names? We can't agree on anything. It was a miracle we settled on 'Lauren' last time.

We agree we don't want to give her a name that will be shortened. We want her to be called by her actual name. And I personally don't favor last names used as first names. And as a teacher, pretty much every name reminds Michelle of some little heathen she's had to deal with at some point.

I like Claire or Audrey, and I wanted to name our first one Justine. Michelle likes mainly Amish names that I keep nixing.

She keeps threatening to write 'father unknown' on the birth certificate and just name her something she likes!

We wanted to name a boy Wyatt. Not a very good girl name though.

Re:HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! - 2008/05/15 20:17 I love the name Wyatt, that's what Kathryn (my 7 year old) would have been named had she been a boy.

I can't really help you with the girl names that can't be shortened. All my girls have long names (Elizabeth, Kathryn, Abigayle) and we call the older two by the whole name, but Abby's never anything but Abby or Shug (thing: Sugar) and she answers to either, but gives us a strange look when we bust out "Abigayle Rowan!!" when she's in trouble. I think she thinks we're talking to the cat. Nobody ever likes the names I pick out, cause I'm very SciFi crazy when it comes to names. LOL I'll admit it, my two oldest are named after Star Trek Characters, and the oldest and youngest after novel characters. And not Romance novel characters. SciFi novel characters. Yea..I'm weird. We all knew that already.

I have a recent pic of me in my profile.

Chad, please let Michelle know we're thinkin about her! I hate it that she's having such a hard time, but it is somewhat comforting to know I'm not the only woman in the world that pregnancy wasn't "Wonderful" for. It got harder for me with each one. Which is why I'm DONE! (and why there's 6 years between my youngest two. haha) I hope she doesn't have any more difficulty than she has now, and that the rest of the pregnancy goes off without any problems.

Re:HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! - 2008/05/21 00:11 Waaahhhh!!! I GIVE UP! Okay I tried and tried and tried to get a family pic small enough for my profile, but, alas it didn't happen! I was hesitant to download the picasa thing b/c my hubby doesn't like me to download lots of stuff from the net. I will have to break down and do it!

Re:HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! - 2008/05/21 15:08 If you have Windows XP it comes with a very basic drawing program called Paint. It should be under Start>Programs>Accessories

Open your photo in that. Then go to 'Image' then 'Sketch/Skew'. Set the Height and Width for like %20-%25 of normal and then Save It. That will usually reduce the size enough to post here.

!!Be sure to Save it as a different file name or in a different location so you don't overwrite the original pic with the lower resolution version!!

Other Technocrats will laugh at my simple suggestion, but just remember there's a thousand apps out there and 10,000 different ways to edit photos.....so all that matters is the end result.

Re:HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! - 2008/05/21 20:14 You know Chad, there was a time I would have scoffed at your suggestion using Paint, because I HATE Paint. But since I got my new comp, and it has Vista, and I'm not sure Photoshop7 will work on it, I use Paint. And it's not as bad as I've always thought it was. It does the job w/o me having to fire up the old laptop. Not that there's anything wrong with the laptop, other than that I have to get it out of the case...blah blah blah. You know.
