Re:Any Word - 2008/04/02 06:49 Mrs. Ashley was a great teacher.
She was a top-level educator;
For example: before people as a whole were concerned with good diet and nutrition a quarter century ago she was bringing eggplant into class and showing second graders how to cook it. She was very funny though, she may have had an inkling that for some who come from biscuits and gravy, meat and potatoes households that this namby pamby eggplant story might go over like a lead balloon, so she devised a batter of some sort and stated something to the effect of, it tastes very much like meat and it is very healthy . Well, for our family it worked, many of us have since found numerous ways to make use of eggplant and we like it! Some say you learn what you need to know by the age of five (kindergarten) but Mrs. Ashley combined with the beautiful Mrs. Rhodes as a first grade teacher was a well-rounded education from great and caring people. Mrs. Ashley delivered a few life lessons that make it better. May Mrs. Ashley sing with the angels of the heavens!

Re:Any Word - 2008/04/03 01:58 Jim Bob and Mr. Ashley,
I want you to know that you are in my prayers in this tragic time. I never had Mrs. Ashley as a teacher since I moved to Chouteau as a freshman, but I did have Mr. Ashley for English and Driver's Ed. I wish that I could make it to one of the services, but still being on active duty, I can't get any time off. I will continue to pray for you and everyone involved in this. Vance Kaup
