J.B. Mullins - 2007/08/20 07:34 My grandpa, J.B. Mullins, passed away today. He fell last Tuesday off the porch at the Lumber Yard (A & H Lumber here in Chouteau) and broke his hip. He had hip replacement surgery on Friday, and this morning threw a blood clot that made it to his heart. He was 87 years old. The funeral is set for Wednesday at 2 at First Baptist Church here in Chouteau.

Re:J.B. Mullins - 2007/08/20 15:53 Brandy,

I'm so sorry for your loss. J.B. was an awesome guy. I don't know if I can make it to the service, but know my family's thoughts & prayers are with yours.

Re:J.B. Mullins - 2007/08/20 16:54 Brandy, I am sorry to hear that. I liked J.B. and gave him my business whenever I could. He sure knew hardware, he knew what I needed better than I did most of the time.
If I live to be 87 I hope I am as able-minded as he was!

His pictures of WWII aircraft were always neat to inspect when you were in his store. Sometime I'd like to hear what his history with military aircraft was.

God Bless you and your family!

Re:J.B. Mullins - 2007/08/20 20:59 Brandy,
I am saddened to hear about your grandpa and I hope you are doing alright. If you need anything feel free to contact me. You are in our prayers. I would love to be able to attend the funeral but due to kids being in school I just can't. But our thoughts are with you and we send our love.

Re:J.B. Mullins - 2007/08/22 07:02 Thanks everyone. It's so hard to believe that he's gone. I hope I live to be 87, and that I'm as together as he was. He took such good care of Grandma, well, really all of us. He always knew so much about everything. He was the smartest man I have ever known. He has touched so many people with his knowledge, wisdom, kindness, and love. He was always willing to go back up to the store when someone needed something after hours, he was always willing to stay late. He was such a helpful, caring person. It's hard to imagine a world without him in it. It's just so strange.

Anyway, thank you all for your kind words and for your prayers. Grandma especially needs them now. I'm so worried about her.
