the ice storm, what was your thoughts? - 2007/01/24 17:24 i really thought that the ice storm was a blessing in descise because it brought me and my family all into one house again because they lost their power. and now that they are gone i somewhat miss all of the nose but it was fun having 8 people in a 4 person house

Re:the ice storm, what was your thoughts? - 2007/01/24 18:53 I'm glad you found a silver lining. I really missed hot water and being able to see after 5:30pm.
For me, it felt really low having to move in with my in-laws on day 4 or 5 when they got power. They liked the company, but I just felt like a bum. I do miss the nightly billiard tournaments, though!
On Day 8 our power came back and we finally got to stay at home. We lost everything in our fridge and deep freeze and several of our aquarium fish, but I didn't even care as long as we got to stay at home again.
Probably a lot of folks got better acquainted with their kids and relatives last week. Our family was plenty acquainted already, I think. I'll take electricity!

Re:the ice storm, what was your thoughts? - 2007/01/24 19:55 I really do not miss good ol' Oklahoma weather. The worst that it did here was get down around freezing for 2 nights but the rest has been rain. I do sometimes think the snow would be better than 2 wks. of rain. It was pretty funny to see people freak out about the cold weather. They were covering their plants and landscaping with blankets and buying firewood for outrageous prices. Stupid. School closed for 1 day because they "thought" the roads could be slick. There is actual people that I work with that have never seen snow! Could you imagine that? I wish I had never seen snow. Can't wait till the summer! Bring on the heat..............
