Re:Dove field wanted, Sept 1st. - 2008/08/30 04:39 Those Dove won't be ready for me to blast outta the air until next season.

Robyn, I don't know anyone from Chouteau that's sick so far. I bet there's a few, though. We haven't been to Country Cottage in ages, it's just not that good anymore (says me).

That's a place that gets a lot of out of town business.

Michelle is lucky. She and her friends at LG Schools often order a lunch from Country Cottage. But since she's been out for maternity leave, she wasn't at risk.

The scary thing is the secondary infections. Evidently this strain is contagious. Haven't heard how it's transmitted yet.

Well, now we know why they drank wine in the olden days. And drank grog on long sea voyages. Used to be a practical act, not just recreational.

I'm sure you could get sick if your food was washed in that contaminated water. Hard to believe the Health Department let them serve that water. There's rumors that they were just supposed to use it to wash certain things.

There will be more publicized, we can be sure. Very sad for all involved.

Re:Dove field wanted, Sept 1st. - 2008/08/30 05:32 I could have sworn they said LG's water was clean.

Yea, nobody in Chouteau eats at CC anymore. We only eat at the Pantry. Well, everyone else does. I don't really care for it. Only thing I'm gonna miss the Cottage for is their breakfast. THAT was good.

From everything I've read on the virus it's passed through food, but it can be passed person to person just through contact. Which is scary as hell if you ask me. I'm scared to death to eat out anywhere now.

Re:Dove field wanted, Sept 1st. - 2008/08/30 06:06 They are saying it's the well water that the restaraunt used. They use both well and city water. They said on the News that the town water is safe. (That's a relative term.) LG's water tastes like dust and ask anyone who lives there and they will tell you their water plant is constantly out or broken down. I don't understand why the have such trouble with water quality compared to the other small towns in the area.

I wonder if it's in the water table and will affect all the wells or just that well?

Time will tell. It is scary stuff.

Brandy, we ate at Whitehorn Cove tonight. I'll let you know how we are in a week or so ; )

Re:Dove field wanted, Sept 1st. - 2008/08/31 01:04 I just heard about the well water thing today. I haven't had a chance to read much on it since my mother-in-law got here. So yea, that's kinda weird. Why would they use both? That doesn't make sense. And right there in town? Just...strange.
