Personal Info

Nickname: Shark
Gender: Male
Birthday: 09/16/1957
Personal Life in My Words: I've been living in Tulsa again, since I finished at NEO in 1977. I started back to school again in 1987 and have 166-credit hours, 2-AAS degrees (Engineering and Management) lack one more class for a 3rd AAS in Computer Science (Web Graphics) and have completed, but never applied for, a regular AS degree to transfer to a university with and can get it in any business discipline. I'll probably take Business Administration for the sound of it.

My girlfriend and I have been together nearly 5-years and bought a house together (about a mile from mine) last December. We plan to renovate my house and move into it and use this as a rental to fund our retirement. We shouldn't be old enough to be thinking about retirement... should we?

She has 3-grown daughters, 2-grandsons and a granddaughter on the way. I have a 5-year old grandniece.

We sold the lake house in 1994 after Mom died late in 1992. I'm sure a lot of you heard when my step-dad shot himself in 1991 at the lake house. He was afraid he had cancer and was in poor health...

I lost my darling sister in 2000. She died of heart disease ON her 59th birthday. www.geocities.com/colliepat

I was up there often before my step-dad's death, but only once or twice a year since we sold the place. I've only been to two football homecommings... I had a nice time talking with Johnny Ray and Bill Dill the last one I went to.

Work Info

Job Title: First Class Engineer
Company: Tulsa Spine Hospital
Work Life and Milestones: I've been in Stationary Engineering since 1984 - which means I'm a licensed operator for boilers and chillers and the city dictates which settings and what equipment have operators. I've been in hospitals for the last 10-years, and they all have high pressure steam, so a licensed operator is required on site 24/7.

My job is pretty diverse and you "wear a lot of hats" as we say - so I've also got more than 300 hours of Vo-Tech, including Security & PI licensure, among many other licenses (and fees).

I had always done a few training seminars, but in the last 3-years I've really stepped it up. I'm on the board of OAHE (OK Association of Healthcare Engineers)www.okahe.org - and you may call me Mr. President in 2009. I've had leadership and supervisory roles in the past, but never truly management - which is my goal. I'm looking at options to finally complete my bachelor's degree.

I'm studying now to become a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager through AHA and there are only 450 in the country and only 10 in Oklahoma. I was just in Lubbock last week for a training class to prep for my CHFM exam.
