My wife and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this December. 25 years of wedded bliss. It's really cool how deeply attached you get to someone when you've been with them that long. We have three children. Our son was given to me and my first wife Amy. Brian will turn 30 this November. He is working for an electrician contractor in Claremore and going to school to get his electricians journeyman's license. He has three more years then he plans on working out of state jobs for a while so he can see some of the country while working as a journeyman. He is serving in the Air National Guard, 138th Fighter Wing, out of Tulsa. During Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio Brian graduated with honers in the top 3% of a graduating class of over 1200 Airmen. He accomplished all this in spite of his cerebral palsy that was a result of the car accident that he was in when he was 13 months old. He works in munitions. He is in charge of building the various guided bombs and rockets that are loaded onto the F-16 fighters. Brian's rank is Staff Sargent. Brian has two kids a boy and a girl. More about them later. My wife Johnie and I have two girls, Shelli and Emily. Emily is 23 years old. She is attending NSU in Tahlequah majoring in journalism and now has decided to continue in school to get her masters degree and then try to get into teaching journalism at the college level. Shelli is, well how do I describe Shelli? She just got her drivers learner permit. She took drivers ed. but I don't think it took. Of all of my kids she is the one that actually scares me when I'm in the car with her. Shelli is very talented in music and art. She has won several awards for her music and art. And she is a very good student. She Goes to Pryor High School. She started there in Junior High. The reason we chose to send her to Pryor was because they offered better art and music programs. Shelli plans on attending Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO and work as a youth minister when she graduates. I was a State Game Warden for Oklahoma for 17 years until several back surgeries made it impossible to work. I have had seven lower back surgeries and 4 spinal fusions. I'm going to see the doctor day after tomorrow to schedule my eight surgery. He wants to implant a nerve stimulator in my lower back along my spinal chord. It's supposed to block the pain signals from my legs and back so they don't reach the brain. Doctors call it degenerative disk disease. It's showing up in my neck now. A lot of pain and my hands are numb and getting weak.
Now for some good news. I have two of the prettiest grandchildren on earth. My Grandson's name is Trevor, he will be eight this November. My granddaughter's name is Abbbie, she is 3 years old. Abbie looks amazingly like Amy (Brians mom) when Amy was her age. |
